Film About Lost Wooden Synagogues of Eastern Europe

Before WWII, more than a thousand wooden synagogues dotted the shtetls of Eastern Europe. The award-winning documentary film, The Lost Wooden Synagogues of Eastern Europe, tells their story. "A masterpiece of visual images," says the Jewish Museum of Florida. Movie is narrated by Theodore Bikel.  Film will be shown on Tuesday, December 13, from 2-4pm, at Temple Ohabei Shalom (1187 Beacon Street) in Brookline as part of the JCC Without Walls program.

JCC Without Walls is a collaboration of Congregation Kehillath Israel, Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, Temple Ohabei Shalom and Young Israel of Brookline with generous funding by Combined Jewish Philanthropies to serve the needs of senior adults. Cost is $5 and includes kosher refreshments. For reservations and more information, contact 617-558-6443 or seniors@jccgb.org.
