J Street Boston Book Group discussion of “A New Voice for Israel”

Please join Lynne Layton, Co-chair of the J Street Boston Programming Committee, for a group discussion of J Street founder and president Jeremy Ben-Ami's recent book, "A New Voice for Israel."

Many Americans who care about Israel’s future are questioning whether the hardline stance adopted by many pro-Israel advocates really serves Israel’s best interests. In A New Voice for Israel, moderate Jeremy Ben-Ami punctures many of the myths that have guided the American Jewish community and been fundamental to how pro-Israel advocates pursue their work. Ben-Ami, whose grandparents were first-generation Zionists and founders of Tel Aviv, tells the story of his own evolution toward a more moderate viewpoint. He articulates a new direction for both American policy and the conduct of the debate over Israel in the American Jewish community.

The event is co-sponsored by J Street Boston.

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans to advocate for vigorous U.S. leadership to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to broaden debate around Israel and the Middle East in national politics and the American Jewish community.
