Meridian Academy Open House

Meridian Academy, an urban college preparatory school in Coolidge Corner, welcomes perspective students and their families on Wednesday, Jan. 11 for an open house event.

The open house begins at 7 p.m. Parents and prospective students are invited to meet staff and teachers, tour the school and learn about this community that is fostering creativity, critical thinking and engaged learners.

Meridian Academy was founded in 2005 and today is a vibrant, creative community for students in grades 6 through 12 that incorporates progressive, traditional and experiential learning, problem solving and leadership opportunities. The private school is dedicated to a diverse student body, with half of its families receiving financial assistance. Using Boston as its extended campus, the school and its teachers emphasize the importance of applying school lessons to real life, teaching for retention and not for tests, and inspiring each student to become accountable and responsible for her or her own education.
