Screening: "Koch Brothers Exposed: The One Percent at Its Very Worst"

The one hour documentary film "Koch Brothers Exposed" by filmmaker Robert Greenwald is a hard-hitting investigation of Charles and David Koch. While not yet household words to most Americans, the two brothers are much of the power behind the throne in our national politics today. They are heirs to a family oil fortune that has brought billions of dollars to them, while their coal and oil facilities have brought forth pollution and disease to the communities downstream. They are leading figures in Americans for Prosperity (an organization for the already prosperous), and the Tea Party. Their secret campaign PACs have sponsored propaganda to bust labor unions, impose austerity on public education, safety, and health care workers, and to erode women's rights. The billionaire brothers have been bankrolling organizations that work to undermine policies on issues ranging from Social Security to the environment to civil rights. This film uncovers the Kochs' corruption-and points the way to how Americans can reclaim their democracy.

A group discussion will follow the conclusion of the film; with Dr. Abram Chipman as moderator. Abram Chipman, a Brookline resident since 1970, is a retired Clinical Psychologist who has written and published extensively in that field, as well as about politics and classical music. He was a member of Brookline Town Meeting for 10 years and currently serves on the board of Brookline PAX, and is a participant in MassOccupy-Brookline. Brookline Adult & Community Education is sponsoring this event. There is a $6 registration fee. Click here to register.
