Brookline Student Killed in Israel Attack
Recent Maimonides School graduate Ezra Schwartz, was killed during a shooting near the West Bank settlement of Alon Shvut.

A Sharon teenager who recently graduated from a private school in Brookline was among three killed and four injured Thursday afternoon in a shooting near the West Bank settlement of Alon Shvut in the Etzion Bloc.
Ezra Schwartz, 18, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics according to the Times of Israel.
Police in Israel confirmed that the assailant opened fired towards Israeli vehicles from his own vehicle. After he ran out of ammunition, he allegedly drove towards Gush Etzion Junction before ramming the vehicle into a car. He was then disarmed and arrested by police.

The suspect was identified by Palestinian media as a West Bank man named Mohammed Abdel Basset al-Kharoub.
Also killed in the attack was an unidentified Palestinian man and Yaakov Don, 51, of Alon Shvut.

Schwartz was a student at the Maimonides School. In a statement, the school said, “The entire Maimonides School community is profoundly sadden as we mourn the tragic loss of our recent graduate Ezra Schwartz, Class of 2015, who was murdered in a terrorist attack today in Israel. Erza was spending his gap year studying in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ezra’s family, classmates and friends.”
