International Yoga Day: Free Yoga On Cypress Field In Brookline

BROOKLINE, MA — If you've ever wanted to give yoga a try, this might be the perfect way to do just that.
The third annual free yoga in the park, co-sponsored by the Brookline Departments of Public Health and Recreation is happening on Cypress Field Thursday night. Did we mention it was free?
Brookline joins other towns and communities across the world who are organizing a free yoga class as a way to celebrate 5,000 years of yoga.

The first International Day of Yoga was declared by the United Nations in December 2014 and organized in 2015 involved more than two billion participants across 192 countries. The day is actually, June 21, the first day of Summer, though Brookline's department of Health sponsored it the day before.
Larisa Forman from Down Under Yoga, and Tatyana Souza from Coolidge Corner Yoga lead the class and walk around assisting participants.
Wear white tops and black bottoms in solidarity and bring a yoga mat and some water.

The class starts at 7 pm. and lasts until 8:30 p.m. This year Josh Knowles will be playing the violin.
