MA Marijuana Retailer NETA Sold To National Company

New England Treatment Access has been sold, pending state approval.

BROOKLINE, MA — New England Treatment Access, which owns a medical marijuana dispensary in Brookline and a recreational shop in Northampton, has been sold to national marijuana company Surterra Wellness, pending approval by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission and local approvals.

NETA, the Massachusetts-based cannabis company, announced Monday Surterra is set to acquire the business. Surterra has companies in Florida, Texas, and Nevada.

NETA's team of 450 will continue their operations in Massachusetts, according to a press release.

NETA's co-founder Kevin Fisher said the company was committed to meeting the obligations of our Brookline, Franklin and Northampton communities, according to a release.

Surterra provides medical, wellness and lifestyle cannabis products, providing access to more than 70 million residents across four states. The company grew from 100 to more than 550 employees in 2018.
