Man Arrested After Woman Reports Him Standing In Brookline Bushes

BROOKLINE, MA — Police arrested a man who one woman reported was standing in the bushes after they found he was wanted in connection with breaking into homes in Concord and Brookline.

Blaise Conway,30, of Woburn, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. at Winchester Street on a straight warrant out of Concord for breaking and entering, furnishing false ID to law enforcement and trespassing. He also had a default warrant out for his arrest in Brookline on charges of attempting to commit a crime and breaking and entering.

A woman told police that earlier she'd passed by an apartment building at 100 Centre St. twice on the evening of Jan. 28, and noticed a man standing in the bushes. On her second time past the building she asked the man what he was doing there. His response was redacted from the police report.

"This looked suspicious given the area was not well lit, and the male appeared to be ducking in
and out of several bushes," according to the police report.

She described the man as short and in his mid 20s and with brown hair. Police said a short time later, they saw a man who matched the woman's description around the corner on Winchester Street. When they ran his name in the system police said they came up with two warrants for his arrest related to breaking and entering. They checked the surrounding area for any signs of forced entry but found none, according to police.
