Brookline Police: Man Arrested For Weapons, Traffic Charges

A young man was arrested in Brookline last night after a routine traffic stop yielded an outstanding warrant issued close to two weeks ago.

Brookline Police stopped Ruel Conway, 28, for making an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Beacon Street and Pleasant Street. A records check determined he had a warrant issued Feb. 12 for a marked lane violation.

According to the police report, upon searching his car officers discovered a backpack with a jar containing what appeared to be marijuana. Conway also informed them that he was carrying a double-edged knife. He was arrested for the warrant and received additional state charges for carrying a dangerous weapon and performing an illegal left turn. In addition, he received a Brookline town citation for possession of marijuana.
