Man Sentenced in Tragic Deaths of Red Sox Producer, Girlfriend

John Lanzillotti and his girlfriend, Jessica Campbell, were killed June 21 when a man blew through a red light in Back Bay.

An Allston man on Friday was sentenced to 18 months in prison for blowing through a red light and striking a Brookline couple who later died.

Mohamed Alfageeh, 30, pleaded guilty to hitting John Lanzillotti, 28, and his girlfriend, Jessica Campbell, 27, as they walked hand-in-hand in Back Bay, reportedly enjoying a romantic stroll.

Lanzillotti was an Emmy award-winning producer with the Boston Red Sox. Campbell was a retail analyst.

“This was a tragic crash that took two innocent lives and forever changed the lives of their loved ones,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said in a statement. “It is all the more tragic knowing that their deaths were entirely preventable.”
