Man Takes Bat To Car As School Lets Out: Brookline Police
After an argument, a man allegedly took a baseball bat to another car at a crosswalk near the Lincoln School - as kids were getting out.

BROOKLINE, MA — Police and, apparently, a number of parents and students at the Lincoln School saw what appeared to be a case of road rage on May 10 as school let out and one man took a baseball bat to another man's car, cursing.
Two cars pulled up to an intersection of Walnut and Chestnut streets as the crossing guard was helping students and families cross after school, when he saw a man jump out of his gray Mitsubishi Eclipse with a baseball bat and start hitting a white car at the intersection, denting the driver's side door panels.
Police happened to be driving by when an officer, too, saw the man swinging a baseball bat to a white car that had stopped in the travel lane.

Police arrested the man with the baseball bat later identified as Carl Jones, 38, of Dorchester, but not until after he sped away from police.
The officer asked Jones to give him the baseball bat, which he did, according to the police report. But while the officer was moving his car out of the middle of the road to continue the conversation with the man, Jones sped off in his Mitsubishi, swerving around children toward Boylston Street, police said.

The officer radioed dispatch which sent out an alert to other officers. Another officer then pulled over Jones near the corner of High Street and Allerton Road and arrested him for failure to stop for a police officer, driving to endanger and malicious destruction of a car causing more than $1,200 in damage, including dents and a broken windshield.
The man in the other car later told police Jones and he had gotten into a verbal argument earlier near the intersection of Cypress and Walnut streets that continued as they drove. The driver in the white car said he was trying to get out of Jones' way.
