Police believe an attempted breaking and entering suspect has other crimes under his belt.
BROOKLINE, MA - A man arrested for allegedly attempting to break into a Brookline home may have committed more crimes around town, police said Thursday.
Scott Boss, 44, is suspected of trying to break into a residence Wednesday morning on Sumner Road before fleeing on a bike, according to an arrest report from the Brookline Police Department.
Police believe the suspect might be linked to several break-ins in Brookline, including three on Jan. 25 — one on Chestnut Street, one on Eliot Street and two on Kenwood Road, according to the arrest report. He also may have tried to pry open the rear door of another home on Kenwood Road, police said.

The suspect is believed to have swiped jewelry and electronics from two of the homes, the arrest report said.
Residents of the Sumner Road home told police that the doorbell rang twice within two minutes while they were getting ready for work, police said. When one resident answered the door there was nobody immediately outside, but she did see a male walking a bike down the driveway into her backyard, according to the arrest report.

The resident said the suspect told her he was looking for Route 9 but rode his bike towards Brookline High School, the opposite direction of where she told him to go, police said. The suspect’s behavior made the woman suspicious, and she contacted police, police said.
A description provided by residents of the home helped police find the suspect in Brookline Village where he was riding his bike in circles at the intersection of Walnut Street and Cypress Street, police said.
After a short chase police were able to stop the suspect, police said, and they found evidence linking Boss to the crime.
Boss is being charged with attempted breaking and entering and is facing arraignment in the Brookline District Court on Thursday, police said.
