Where did you study/receive your training?
I graduated from Emerson College with a degree in Mass Communications. I received my training from the French Institute of Aesthetic in Washington, DC and I currently hold a Class 6 Aesthetician License in Massachusetts.

I started out as a Freelance Make-up Artist, working exclusively with the news networks in DC. I was hired to work with a well-known Senator from Massachusetts on a segment for CBS. Media makeup for men is usually an easy task, but no matter what I did the makeup kept drying out and pilling. I quickly realized that if I had understood the condition of my client’s skin, I could have prepped it better and spared us both a bit of embarrassment. I enrolled in Aesthetics school the very next day. It was a few months later that I learned about Rosacea. At that very moment I decided that skin care and health were more powerful and rewarding than a photo finished face.
How long have you been a part of the Dream Spa Medical team?

I have been working with Dream Spa Medical for 2 years.
What do you specialize in?
For many years I worked with a Dermatologist in DC. That opportunity gave me a better understanding of the health and histology of the skin. I have a good grasp on various skin types and the conditions that affect them, based on ethnicity and genetic background. For instance, my olive skin is predisposed to pigment with Melasma - a condition that affects 40 million people worldwide. I have definitely taken a personal and professional interest in the treatment of Melasma and I love that I can educate and help others with their struggles.
What is your favorite treatment at Dream Spa Medical?
I do love a deeply scientific and studied approach, but nothing beats instant gratification. Most Aestheticians get that from popping a pimple or purging a pore, but at this stage in my career it’s the power of lasers that amazes me. It is so satisfying to make a network of veins or brown spots disappear. The same can be said for treating a tattoo that was poorly executed or done in haste. Our Enlighten laser can take care of it all (without pain!), and we’re the only location in all of Massachusetts that can offer this nano/pics technology. I love the look on my patient’s face when their problem disappears right in front of their very eyes. Poof. It’s like magic!
What is your go-to product for at-home care?
Every one of us at Dream Spa Medical would say SPF first, so it will be interesting to see how we all build off of that. After SPF, I would say Retinol. It requires some trial and error to find the right product to suit you, but the anti-aging benefits are amazing.
What is your #1 tip for healthy skin?
Honestly? Go see a professional...
Look, if you’re in the habit of eating 3 healthy meals a day, while consuming gallons of water, avoiding stressful situations, abstaining from all vices, committing to regular sweat sessions and creating 8 hours of sleep regularly then DON’T call me. You’ll be just fine! However, if you live any version of a normally, abnormal life, then you are affected by diet, dirt, disorders, distraction and predisposition. Everyone has a different complaint and advice and treatment should be prescribed accordingly. We all deserve a customized #1 tip, but you could start by washing your face every night.
What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever received?
Smile.
Why do you love what you do?
I used to love solving the problem at hand, but that was about challenging myself and growing in my profession. Now that I’m 40+ years grown, and my skin has gone through it all, I enjoy connecting with my patients on a deeper level, because I truly understand where they’re coming from. Sitting with no makeup, exposing every flaw, and confessing to your cosmetic concerns puts a person in a very vulnerable position. I respect that. I want my patients to know there is no judgment. I want them to know that it is okay to ask for beauty, just as much as I want them to know that they are already beautiful. This isn’t about vanity. This is about taking care of yourself, feeling confident in your own skin, putting your best face forward, and owning up to your expectations and desires. The psychology behind these moments is fascinating, and I relish in helping my patients feel as good as they look, and look as good as they feel.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I have always worked on the medical side, but I have never worked with a more dedicated group of women. It has been a great education and experience. #DreamTeam
