A New Partnership between Newbury and Regis
Newbury College partners up with Regis to offer post-graduates the chance to enroll into liberal arts Master's programs.

Feb. 20, 2018 – Newbury College and Regis partnered up for the first time to offer one out of five liberal arts programs to Newbury’s post-graduates.
Newbury has not had any graduate programs in the past, so this partnership could allow post-graduates to continue their education in one of those five programs without having to fully re-apply to a new school.
“Regis is proud to begin a partnership with Newbury to allow students to continue their education at the graduate level and work towards achieving their career goals,” said Regis’ Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Malcolm Asadoorian in a statement on the Newbury College website.

Qualified Newbury students can receive admission to Regis’ graduate program. To be a qualified student, you must have earned a B or higher in certain liberal arts and major classes and maintain a 3.00 GPA. You must also be on a successful track to completing your Bachelor’s degree, according to Newbury College’s website.
Qualified students will receive a waiver of the application fee and a waiver of the GRE or MAT requirement. As a qualified student, you are also guaranteed an admissions interview with Regis’ Graduate Program Director, according to Newbury College’s website.

In addition, Newbury students in their junior and senior years could take one or two graduate courses at Regis and receive course credits that will count toward their Bachelor’s degree.
“I think it also helps bring awareness to Newbury students that there are great local opportunities to expand your education once you graduate from Newbury,” said Newbury’s Associate Dean Mat Konieczka. Konieczka said he believed that having this partnership will also help increase admissions at Newbury.
Newbury’s Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Frank Sargent is the one who developed the plan and worked with Regis to come to an agreement. “One of the [basic] tenets of our educational philosophy is to promote lifelong learning; that a student's will and desire to learn will never stop well after his or her time at Newbury. This partnership creates an almost seamless transition for Newbury students hoping to continue their studies post Newbury,” said Sargent in an email to this reporter.
The program consists of a Master’s in; Education, Health and Administration, Counseling Psychology, Counseling (online program), or Applied Behavior Analysis. Each program has a different price in tuition, because the time to complete each program varies, according to Regis’ College website.
