Monadnock after serious injury (ledgertranscript.com) — A 53-year-old Brookline woman was rescued from Mount Monadnock after suffering a serious but non-life-threatening injury near the summit, and was carried down by park staff, conservation officers, and volunteers. Officials say she and her group were well prepared, and they highlight how New Hampshire's Search and Rescue Fund and Hike Safe Card program cover such costly responses without using hunting or fishing license fees.
