Patient's Stuff Stolen, Dog Bite, Arrests: Brookline Police Log

A look at the types of things people called the police about in Brookline this week.

BROOKLINE, MA — The following are taken from the public Brookline Police arrest logs. Remember just because something was reported, doesn't mean that's the way it shook out.

Sunday, Sept. 9

Lock your car: Someone called to report their car was broken A report was made for a breaking and entering with a larceny of a motor vehicle. The reporting party told officers around 11:45 a.m. he parked his car on Dunster Road while he was on Hammond Street. He stated when he returned to his motor vehicle around 2:30 p.m. he observed the contents of his center console were rummaged through. Numerous items were missing.

Monday, Sept. 10

Where's my wallet?: Someone came into the police station to report that on Sept. 1 her wallet went missing. The woman said on Sept 1 around 9:45 p.m. she had finished her shopping at a store on Harvard Street put her wallet into one of the paper shopping bags, and rolled out to a waiting taxi in a shopping cart. While leaving, she passed through a group of four men who were in the doorway of the store. Two of the men helped her transfer her bags into the trunk of the taxi. She stated that one of the men may have bumped against her. When she arrived home, she could not find her wallet. She told police she and the driver searched the taxi.

Patient missing personal box: A home health care aide called to report that someone stole something from her patient. The aide told police that her patient would be moving soon and that in anticipation of the move she had been gathering the patient’s belongings and reorganizing them. The health aide said she last saw a box of the patient's in June. In August, when she went to get the box she found the contents inside were missing. She searched the residence with an unsuccessful outcome. The patient has around the clock care by multiple aides.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Chomp on Naples Road: A man called police to report he was with his dog at the Lawton Street Playground basketball courts when another man and his dog entered the park. Both owners agreed to let their dogs interact. When the complainant’s dog approached the other dog, the other dog bit his in the muzzle area. Both dog owners pulled their dogs away. The offending dog’s owner told the victim’s owner that his dog was up to date on her shots but did not give any contact information. When the victimized dog and her owner arrived at home the owner noticed the wound was bleeding.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Arrest, Traffic: Police arrested Kyle Cepoudy, 24, of Brockton at 3:46 a.m. on Beacon Street and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor and operating under a suspended license.

Cell phone gone: A report of a larceny was made at the Brookline Police Station. The complainant told officers between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. that day, she was working somewhere on Washington Street when it went missing. Staff searched the building unsuccessfully.

Arrest, warrants: Police arrested Culicia Rascoe, 28, of Dorchester, at 8:27 a.m. at her home and charged
on a number of warrants issued out of Brookline District Court for unarmed robbery, intimidation of a witness, larceny from a building, abuse on an elder or someone disabled. She also had warrants out of Boston District Court for larceny over $250 from an elderly or disabled person and larceny of more than $1,200 by a single scheme.

Thursday, Sept. 13

Arrest, Traffic: Police arrested Samuel Alvarez, 27, of Dorchester at 3:46 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Street and Davis Avenue and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended licence after an officer in an unmarked car said they saw a car cross the double yellow lines in an effort to pass other cars that were waiting for a pedestrian to cross the road. He was also cited for operating left of center line and improper passing. The car was towed.
