Photo Gallery: Breaking Ground on a New Runkle

Officials kick off $20.7 million project with ceremony month after work started.

Though work actually began last month, Brookline officials gathered on the grounds of the Runkle School this morning for a formal groundbreaking ceremony for the two-year, $20.7 million renovation of the school.

If the project stays on schedule, students and teachers returning to Fisher Hill in September 2012 will find a new multi-purpose room, larger cafeteria and enough classrooms to accommodate three classes per grade level.
