To kick off Fire Prevention Week, the crew hosted a family-friendly day at the fire station.

BROOKLINE, MA – The Brookline Fire Department kicked off Fire Prevention Week Sunday by hosting Fire Safety Day at Station 5 on Babcock Street.

The family-friendly event featured a tour of the station and the opportunity for kids to meet Sparky, climb on the equipment and participate in other fire safety activities.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, Fire Prevention Week is held yearly the week of October 9 to educate the public on prevention measures, including when to replace smoke detectors.
