Should Women Be Included In The Draft? Brookline Residents Say Yes

A quick poll of people in and around Brookline found that women should be allowed in the draft.

After President Trump gave the okay to bomb Syria, a number of people have hinted that there might be a WWIII. What would that mean for the Army Draft? Many people around Brookline seem to agree that opening the draft to women should be a no brainer. Some people said "it's simply equal rights for women."

“I feel women should have the same rights as men and if they want to enter the draft they should,” said Marvin Janssen, 26, from behind the counter at Panera in Cooliage Corner.

Others had very strong opinions on whether the draft should be open to women.

“Yes, they should be forced too, they want equality so there’s equality,” said Newbury College Sophomore Anthony Peña, 19.

Meanwhile others felt that while women should be able to do what they wanted, but they felt nobody should be forced to fight.

“If they have the choice [to enter the draft] I don’t think they should because nobody should go to war, what’s wrong with peace,” said Ikponmwosa Ogbomo, 19, from his door step in Audubon Circle.
