A Stolen Scooter, Road Rage Fisticuffs And Car Break ins: Brookline Police Logs
Brookline police also arrested a man for shoplifting and another man for breaking his probation over the weekend.

BROOKLINE, MA — All of the following is from Brookline Police log or online blog. They are excerpts taken from the public police log and represent a portion of what kinds of calls the police respond to. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Whoops: The officer at the front desk of the police station was approached by someone who reported she lost her wallet near the front parking area of the Tappan Street pool. The woman said she parked her car in a parking space around 5:15 p.m. and when she left around 7 p.m. she realized she did not have her wallet. She believes it may have fallen out of her pocket while exiting the vehicle or she may have left it on the roof of the car.

Yours?: The Brookline Highway Department turned in an abandoned bicycle they found around Davis Avenue and was tagged with a notice of removal on 5/19.
Road rage fisticuffs: Someone called into the station to report two drivers were fighting after a crash near the corner of Lee and Boylston streets and they were blocking traffic.

Sunday, July 9
Don't leave your purse in the car: A South Street resident called to report someone broke into her car and took her purse, which she accidentally left in the car overnight. When she went to go look for her purse, the resident said the car's door was open and the purse was gone. She said she thought she locked the car, but there were no obvious signs of a break.
Bike lane. Not car lane: Around 5:40 p.m. an officer spotted a car parked in a bike lane on Beacon Street and ran the registration, which showed it did not have a valid inspection sticker. Police pulled over the car at the intersection of Carlton Street and Ivy Street. During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle was found to have two default warrants. He was placed under arrest for the warrants and issued a citation for No Seatbelt. The operator of the vehicle was also issued a citation for Failing to Submit MV for Inspection.
Nailed: A Colbourne Crescent resident called around 10:15 p.m. to report there were nails in her tires and she thought someone did it on purpose.
Monday, July 10
Careful with valuables: A Stetson Street resident called to report someone broke into two cars overnight while they were parked in the driveway. He said he thought both cars were locked, but when he went out to his car in the morning the door was open and the contents of the glove compartment and center console were on the passenger seat.
Bullets in Brookline?: Someone came into the station with two bullets he said he found on Freeman Street.
Another set of car break ins: Police got calls about car break ins on Dwight and Browne Street, and several on Babcock Street all with similar descriptions of opened car doors and rummaged through and things like a GPS unit, change, and small items seemed to be missing. But the Dwight Street resident said he caught footage of two men entering the car overnight since he has a camera that faces his parking spot.
Fraud: A woman called police to report she was a victim of internet fraud involving her bank accounts. The victim received an email about her account from her bank and upon contacting them found someone had withdrawn all her money in her checking and savings accounts over the course of two days. She stated she did not authorize these transfers. She is currently working with her bank to correct the incident and was advised to contact the credit bureaus and FTC Identity Theft Web Page.
Bike gone: Someone called to say their bicycle was stolen from a rack on Aspinwall Avenue. The officer then spoke to an employee near address who stated he would provide video surveillance footage or photos pertaining to the case.
Tuesday, July 11
Car break ins: A Stetson Street resident reported her car was broken into, too, overnight. She said she had left her car parked in their driveway Sunday night around midnight, most likely unlocked. When her husband went to use it this morning it appeared to be rummaged through. Change was found to be missing. A fanny pack was located within the vehicle and was thought by the car owner to belong to the suspect or another victim. A green piece of paper from the Teen Center was also found on the ground. Both items were submitted into evidence.
Scooter stolen: A Pleasant Street resident called to report his motor scooter was stolen from under a protective cover in the bushes on the front side of his home. Security footage captured the event and depicted two figures steal the scooter at 1:21 a.m. on 7/8.
Smashed: Someone reported their car window was smashed in around 10:25 p.m. near the Baker School. Police identified a suspect and they will be summonsed to court for Malicious Damage.
