After it was announced that Wulf's would move to the Seaport District in May, the Board of Selectmen granted the doughnut shop a license to take over the Harvard Street space.

According to the TAB, Union Square Donuts must still undergo a complete renovation and building and health code inspections before it can open.

Union Square Donuts recently landed at the top of Thrillist's "33 Best Donut Shops in America" list for the third year in a row and was named "Best Doughnut in Boston" by Boston Magazine in 2015.

Union Square Donuts is scheduled to take over the space at 409 Harvard St. June 1, though co-owner Josh Danoff said in an email the shop will most likely open this fall.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the store's location as Harvard Avenue. The shop is on Harvard Street. Though USD is slated to take over the space June 1, it will not open until the fall.
