Unwelcome Return Home After The Holiday: Brookline Police Logs
Here are several examples of the types of calls Brookline Police responded to this weekend.

BROOKLINE, MA — All of the following is from Brookline Police log or online blog. They are excerpts taken from the public police log and represent a portion of what kinds of calls the police respond to. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Saturday, Dec. 30
(Un)welcome home: A Linden Court resident called to report someone broke into their home while they were on vacation. They told police when they returned the front door was unlocked and items were out of place. Officers observed pry marks on the front door. Multiple items including electronics and jewelry were reported stolen.
Sunday, Dec. 31
Porch Pirates: A St. Paul Street resident called police to report of a package theft. The caller told police that when he came home he found that the package he was expecting had been ripped open and the contents removed.

Fire: Officers responded to a building on Babcock Street for a report of a building fire. Brookline Fire was already on scene with the residents evacuated. The building was deemed uninhabitable and the cause of the fire is undetermined. There were no injuries reported
Monday, Jan. 1
Shoplifting into the new year: Officers were dispatched to one of the CVSs on Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting. A manager at the store said they had observed a woman enter the store and hide something in her purse. The employee stopped the woman before she could leave. A check of the woman’s criminal history showed that she had an active warrant in effect. The woman, Courtney Dusvitch, 28, of Revere, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. and charged with Shoplifting and for the warrant out of Lynn. Police told Dusvitch that she was no longer welcome at any CVSs in Brookline.

Tuesday, Jan. 2
Traffic mistakes when you have a warrant for your arrest: Police arrested Derek Clarke, 26, of Needham and charged him at 12:44 a.m. after making a right on red from Beacon Street, westbound, onto Harvard Street, northbound. During the traffic stop police found he had a warrant out for his arrest out of Brighton District Court issued for traffic offences.
