2 Restaurant Proposals On Agenda For Upcoming Burlington Board Meeting

Eateries at two popular shopping destinations are on the docket for a Planning Board meeting this week.

BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Planning Board is set to review multiple development and zoning matters during its Thursday meeting at Town Hall, including proposals for new restaurants, a school project modification, and potential changes to the town’s zoning bylaws.

Several public hearings are on the agenda. One involves an application by Blue Salt LLC, doing business as Citrus & Salt, seeking a special permit for a restaurant at 19 Third Ave. within the Northwest Park Planned Development District.

Citrus & Salt currently has a Boston location which is described as "a Baja-inspired restaurant with a menu that reflects chef Jason Santos' enthusiasm for the coastal cuisine of Southern California and Mexico."

The restaurant will be at the former Osteria Nino space in the 3rd Ave shopping plaza, according to WhatNow Boston.

The restaurant closed its doors after 10 years in business to make way for "new ownership and a revitalized concept."

Another public hearing will consider a special permit application from Waffle & Bagel LLC for a fast-order food restaurant at the Burlington Mall at 75 Middlesex Turnpike.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Hearing Room at Burlington Town Hall, 29 Center St., with both in-person and virtual attendance options available.

Among the administrative matters, board members will discuss a request for approval of a minor engineering change at Marshall Simonds Middle School, located at 114 Winn St. Burlington Public Schools is listed as the applicant.

The board is also scheduled to hold a public hearing on a site plan application from Foxboro Learning LLC for a property at 0 Cambridge St.

In addition, a continued public hearing will address proposed amendments to the zoning bylaws related to definitions and commercial uses involving animals, submitted by the Planning Board itself.

Public participation is included on the agenda.
