2.49% Residential Tax Rate Increase Approved

Selectmen voted to decrease both the residential and commercial tax rates in town.

Burlington selectmen unanimously approved a 2.49 percent tax rate increase for residents this week. Commercial and industrial rates will increase roughly 4 percent.

The Board of Selectmen approved an option that decreased both the residential and commercial tax rates, the Daily Times Chronicle is reporting.

Selectmen set the residential tax rate to $11.35 (down from $12 last year) and $29.40 for commercial, industrial and private property entities, which last year was $32.24.
