Boys Hockey Skates to Second Straight Championship

Marshfield wasn't enough to slow down Burlington High School, which used its veteran experience to win the Division 1 title with a 4-2 win at TD Garden.

It was so nice, the Burlington High School boys hockey team decided to do it twice.

The Red Devils completed their Division 1 title defense on Sunday night at TD Garden when they dominated Marshfield and earned a 4-2 state championship victory.

Joe Berardi opened the scoring while Sean Murphy put home two goals of his own in the contest. J.P. Scola capped the scoring when he put home a rebound, and Burlington sealed its second straight title.

"It's a great accomplishment for our kids. It was on our mind all year, but who knows if you can do it. It's a tough, tough road to get here," said head coach Bob Conseison. "To win this game is incredible to us. It's great for our town, for our program, but more importantly for the 22 athletes to who dedicated their season to getting here."
