Burlington Adds Just 1 Coronavirus Case Over 7-Day Period

Burlington had 264 confirmed cases as of Wednesday, just one additional case from June 10.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington added just one additional coronavirus case over the last week, according to state data released Wednesday. As of Wednesday, the town has 264 confirmed cases, just one more than June 10.

The town's case growth has dramatically slowed since the virus's peak spread in Massachusetts in April. Since May 27, when the state reported 246 cases, fewer than 18 have been added.

The state crossed the 100,000-case count at beginning of June, but has only added 6,422 since, as of Thursday's release.

The second part of phase two of the state's reopening will begin Monday, but phase three will be pushed back at least another week, Gov. Charlie Baker announced early Friday afternoon.

As expected, part two will see the return of indoor dining and personal services such as nail salons, tattoo parlors and some personal training. Baker also revealed retail dressing rooms will reopen (by appointment only) and offices are opening back to 50 percent capacity.
