Burlington Gets High Praise For Sidewalk Snow Removal
It may be too cold to go for a walk, but sidewalks are reportedly clear and ready for when the temperature does rise.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The temperature may be in the single digits during daylight hours this week, but people are still out walking. And that means plenty of complaints throughout the region about the fact that many sidewalks have not been cleared several days after the weekend snowfall. But not in Burlington, where the town appears to be doing a good job.
The Boston Pedestrian, a Twitter feed focused on walking in greater Boston, was out in town Thursday and complimented the town while dissing neighboring Wilmington.
Some suburbs do it better than others: traveled extensively around Burlington today and found every inch of Town owned sidewalk cleared of snow. In Wilmington it was almost the opposite, very few sidewalks were cleared. #burlingtonma #WilmingtonMA

Burlington has over 50 miles of publicly-owned sidewalks, and the task of clearing them of snow falls behind plowing roads. But the town policy only calls for clearing sidewalks by mechanical means: the pedestrian byways are not treated with salt or sand.
