Burlington Girls Lacrosse Falls Short Against Wilmington

Lopsided first half dooms Devils, who drop to 2-4 on the year.

made the short trip to Wilmington on Wednesday for a girls lacrosse tilt, but the Wildcats defended home turf with a dominating performance.

Wilmington earned its first win of the season, 18-9, after the hosts pounced to a 13-3 halftime advantage. Though Burlington began to find some offensive consistency in the second stanza, it was too little, too late.

"We struggled in the first half of the game," said Devils head coach Katey Sullivan, whose team is now 2-4 on the year. "The girls weren't making the best decisions on the field. During half time we talked about slowing down and focusing. We came back a better team. Our passing and catching improved."
