Burlington Police Identify Owners In Dog Attack
The dog broke the skin when it bit a woman, requiring a 10-day quarantine, police said.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington police identified the owner of a dog that bit a woman Monday after asking for help on Facebook this week. In a Facebook post, Burlington Animal Control Officer Gerry Mills said a man and a woman were walking four dogs when one of those dogs attacked another woman's dog around 4:45 p.m. Monday at Veterans Park on Wilmington Road. When that woman intervened, the dog bit her.
After the incident, the woman's dog ran off and she had to chase it. When she returned to the area, the other owner and the four dogs he was with were gone.
Mills had originally used his Facebook post to ask for help in identifying a "male and female (possibly separate owners) walking together that possibly live in the area or walk in the area frequently." Later on he updated his post to say the owners and the dog had been identified.

Because the bite broke the victim's skin, the dog will need to be quarantined for 10 days to make sure it does not have rabies.
