Burlington Primary Voters Go For Romney on Super Tuesday
Mitt Romney picked up 1,365 votes in town.

Burlington voters have decided that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the most suitable Republican candidate, according to the poll numbers released on the Town website Tuesday night.
In the most contested race of the day, the GOP Presidential Primary, Romney picked up 1,365 votes. Romney’s closest competition was Rick Santorum, who finished with 176 votes. Ron Paul garnered 146 votes in Burlington and Newt Gingrich received 58.
A total of 1,760 Republican voters weighed in on the party's primary in town. 2,236 total voters, or 14.6 percent of the town's eligible voters, came to the polls for the primary.

In the Republican Town Committee vote Marianne W. Brenton came out on top with 883 votes with Claire M. Putnicki coming up in second with 863. (See the full results in the Pdf file on the right for all committee results).
There were few surprised in the Democratic Presidential Primary. President Barack Obama garnered 355 votes with 67 party members choosing "no preference."

In the Democratic Town Committee vote Virginia E. Mooney came in first with 324 votes and Paul R. Raymond came in second with 298 votes. (See the full list at right).
