Burlington Study Looks To Determine Best Uses For Town's Parks
Burlington's Parks & Recreation Department wants to know how residents use the towns public spaces.

BURLINGTON, MA -- A team of researchers from the University of New Hampshire Department of Recreation Management and Policy will be in Burlington Wednesday to conduct a focus group with the town's Parks & Recreation Department. Results of the session will be part of a community needs assessment that will help the department with future planning. The department is asking interested residents to attend the session, which will be held on Wednesday, September 20th at Grandview Farm (55 Center Street) beginning at 7 pm.
In a release previewing the event, the department outlined the goals of the assessment process, which include:
- To examine the parks and recreation needs as identified by the residents and key stakeholders in the town of Burlington.
- To determine which parks and recreation needs expressed were deemed to be priorities for the town of Burlington.
- To develop a set of recommendations that would allow the town of Burlington to meet the priorities that are identified throughout the study.
In addition to Wednesday's focus group, the department is also conducting a needs assessment survey of residents. The survey will be available after the Sept. 20 meeting and takes about 15-20 minutes to complete, the department said. For more information on contributing to the assessment process and participating in the survey, contact the department at 781-505-1103 or visit their Website.
