Burlington Town Meeting Adopts Five Streests as Public Town Ways
The vote was passed during Town Meeting on Monday, Sept. 26.

The town of Burlington has added five new streets as public ways.
On Monday, Sept. 26, Town Meeting voted to accept the layouts of Benson Way, Dublin Circle, Erin Lane, Thornton Drive and Kingsdale Street, which were all parts of privately owned finished subdivisions as public ways.
Earlier this year when the Board of Selectmen was discussing adopting privately owned streets as public ways, Burlington Department of Public Works Superintendent John Sanchez said the roads in question were part of completed sub-divisions that were laid down but never officially made into town roads.

Accepting them as town roads will give the town the right to do repairs and roadwork on the roads, Sanchez said. Though this is an extra expense, it will also increase the amount of Chapter 90 money available from the state, he explained.
At the last Town Meeting on May 9, members voted to accept Briarwood Lane, Sleeper Drive, Washington Ave, Jefferson Ave, Shea Circle, Belmont Road and Cormier Road, all of which were part of unfinished sub-divisons, as public ways. They also accepted the completed sub-division roads Litchfield Way, Michael Drive, Radcliff Street, Stonehill Circle, Tinkham Avenue, Marvel Avenue, Lee Avenue, Theresa Avenue and Mullberry Lane.

At this week's Town Meeting Sanchez said the roads up for question were in good condition compared to some of those accepted in May.
