Burlington Woman Charged in Stoneham Hit-And-Run
Middlesex DA Marian Ryan announced charges Monday for a hit-and-run that injured four children.

WOBURN, MA — Stephanie DeTomasi, 30, of Burlington was charged in relation to the Oct. 14 hit-and-run that injured four children in Stoneham, prosecutors announced Monday. DeTomasi was charged with leaving the scene of personal injury, leaving the scene of property damage, destruction of evidence, negligent operation and speeding. The children, all 12 or 13, suffered minor injuries; two were sent to the hospital.
After the hit-and-run, police released video taken by a neighbor that appears to show a car veering off the road into the children, sending them flying back. Stoneham Police Chief James McIntyre said the vehicle was a dark-colored Subaru Legacy driving westbound on Elm Street. The children were standing with their bikes in front of a home at the corner of MacArthur Road. The Subaru then struck a parked car in a driveway and drove away, McIntyre said.
The Subaru fled the scene with one of the children's bikes lodged under the vehicle.

He rushed outside, helped calm the kids, & called 911. He says he feared the worst and can’t believe none of the kids were seriously hurt @wbz pic.twitter.com/5OPEvGblRM
