Dog Falls Through Ice, Injured Deer in Backyard, Kids Playing Football Concerns Neighbor and More

The latest entries from the Burlington Police Department for Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11.

The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department.

Tuesday, March 10

7:11 a.m. - Caller from Upland Road reports an injured deer in her backyard. Animal Control Officer reports the deer ran off into the woods.

12:19 p.m. - Manager from Burlington Day Care, 39 B St.reports a male party approaching parents with children asking them for money and cigarettes. Same is described as approximately 50 years old wearing a black jacket and black pants. Patry was transported back to Eliot Community Human Services, 4 A St. where he is a member, party goes to that location.

2:48 p.m. - Caller reports his dog has fallen through the ice at the Reservoir Water Treatment facility, 70 Winter St. and is struggling to get back up on ice. Fire Department was dispatched, the dog got out of the water, response cancelled.

Wednesday, March 11

6:59 a.m. - Well being check after a caller reports an MBTA bus with the emergency light on. Transit Police were notified and they are not aware of any problems. Police searched the area, unable to locate.

9:16 a.m. - Caller from Wildwood Lane reports an injured deer in the backyard. The animal jumped away.

12:58 p.m. - Lahey Hospital Security reports a purse with $50, a gold chain and ring was taken by a middle aged black male, heavy set, wearing dark clothing. A Discover card and Citibank Visa were also in the wallet.

1:46 p.m. - Caller from Abercrombie & Fitch Kids reports a past shoplifter in store Abercrombie and Fitch security reports three black females possibly shoplifted from the adult side of the store. No theft reported at this time. Suspects were gone when police arrived. One suspect was a heavy framed black female wearing dark clothes. Suspect two and suspect three were thin build black females also wearing dark clothes or denim jackets.

4:04 p.m. - Employee from Brookstone reporting a past theft.

4:52 p.m. - Caller from Burlington Car Wash, 310 Cambridge St. reports a possibly impaired female walking in the street. Police advise the party to use sidewalk where they have been cleared of snow.

5:01 p.m. - Caller from Louise Road reports teenage kids playing football in the street and are coming onto his property. Caller also states the football is thrown in a manner at times so as to cause damage to their vehicles. Kids were gone when police arrived.

5:25 p.m. - Caller from Packard’s Kitchens, 264 Cambridge St. reports teenagers loitering in area. Police sent two male parties on their way.
