Domestic Violence Awareness Lighting

Purple Light Night

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We are kicking off our Fifth Annual Tree lighting in front of the Burlington Police Station on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30pm. All are welcome at the Senior Center/Community Life Ctr. Building on the front lawn. We will gather at 6:30 and walk over to the Police Station front lawn for the 7:00pm lighting of the tree. This tree will be lit up every night throughout the month of October. The Burlington Police Department and Chief Kent is so very kind to allow us to light up their tree on the front lawn.

Please join us as we say a few words and pass out a battery votive to each participant. We will remember those lives lost, supporting survivors and bring hope to those that are still living with abuse. When we come out of the shadows and speak up together...we gain strength. If you would like to help make this event a success and would like to help by putting up posters and wrapping the trees in ribbon, please contact me at wmlrock@gmail.com. This is a great opportunity to show others in our community, that we do not tolerate Domestic Violence and we stand together!
