The Committee to Elect Mike Runyan for Selectman will be hosting a meet the candidate open house this coming Saturday, March 3rd, at the Villafranca Restaurant. Friends and acquaintances old and new are welcomed to come and meet Mike. Runyan's supporters who have adopted the rally cry "I Like Mike," believe he is the candidate with a message that addresses voter’s concerns. The Runyan

   Pleased with the high number of votes he got in last year’s election and the support from residents encouraging him to run, Mike is dedicated in his goal to address the issues that are of most important to Burlington residents. Runyan wants to be the voice of the people and is not afraid to stand up for their beliefs.

Issues at Hand

Mike Runyan is running on a platform that tackles issues that have long been ignored such as the focus on traffic, stream cleaning/flooding and fiscal responsibility, just to name a few. “We can’t keep ignoring these concerns and if elected, I will bring these things to the forefront,” Runyan said. His dedicated commitment and his down-to-earth approach have generated a great deal of excitement. Mike is confident that when his message is heard, the community will be pleased.
    Runyan, a 23-year veteran of the Burlington Fire Department and a life-long resident of the town, announced his candidacy several weeks ago. Mike and his wife Lisa are the proud parents of daughter Nicole and sons Robert and Michael who are all graduates of the Burlington Public School system. Mike is also a proud “Papa” to five grandchildren.
     So mark your calendar for Saturday, March 3rd to attend the "I Like Mike" Open House at the Villafranca Restaurant at 5 Center Street from 1 pm to 3 pm. And please feel welcomed to bring your friends along to meet and talk to Mike. There will be appetizers, pizza and a cash bar.
