Fire Chief Steve Yetman and Police Chief Mike Kent are happy to report that the Burlington Police and Fire Departments hosted a successful Youth Public Safety Academy today in conjunction with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.
Children, ages 9 through 11, visited with Burlington firefighters this morning, learning about the different aspects of the fire engines, the hoses used to put out a fire and the basics of CPR.

“This was a great opportunity for our members to interact with our younger residents to show them the ins and out of the Burlington Fire Department,” Chief Yetman said. “The kids had a great time interacting with firefighters and we look forward to participating in the academy next year.”
“Anytime we can interact with children in a positive way as police officers, it’s a win,” Chief Kent said. “The Burlington Police Department is proud to take part in the YPSA program every year!”
