BURLINGTON, MA — Here's what's going on at the Burlington Public Library. The following information was submitted by the library.

Library Hours

The library will be closed Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

Hat and Mitten Drive

The Burlington Public Library is holding a Hat and Mitten Drive during the month of November. Bring in new (with tags!) mittens, hats, or gloves and you will receive a coupon good for a one time use to waive up to $3.00 in overdue fines. All donations will benefit the People Helping People Holiday Program. If you have any questions stop by or call the Circulation Desk at (781) 270-1693.

Teen Lounge- Friday, Nov. 4 and 18, 2:30-4:30 pm Join Nicole for games, crafts, snacks, you name it. (Check out our new game collection!)

T.A.G. (Teen Advisory Group) - Monday, Nov. 7, 7-8 pm Help Nicole plan future programs while earning community service hours.

Ghostbusters 2016 Movie Showing - Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1-3 pm Enjoy a movie with free popcorn! Best for grades 3-9

Big Kids, Big Stories - Wednesday, Nov. 9, 7-7:45 pm Join Mary for a longer story and snack, because you’re never too old to be read to! This week: Ali Baba Ages 6 and up

Adventure Book Club (Plus Parents) - Thursday, Nov 10, 6:30-7:30 pm Interested kids and parents (or other caregivers) may now pick up this month’s adventure book, Barnhill’s “The Witch’s Boy”, at the Youth Services Desk and sign up for our meeting. Join Mary to snack, talk about the book, and do a cool activity! A new adventure every month! For grades Grades3-6

Songs and Stories of WWII – Thursday, Nov 17 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm

There will be two performances of this entertaining program presented by “Ramblin’ Richard”. He recalls the music and brings to light the fascinating and unfamiliar stories about some of the most beloved American songs from 1941-1945. Richard is a member of the New England Foundation for the Arts , a retired professor and an active musician who makes more than 300 performances each year. He will share stories and sings songs while accompanying himself on guitar, 5 string banjo and baritone ukulele.

With two performances sponsored by the Friends there is more opportunity for you to join us. Come enjoy the music and learn a little history about the songs of WWII!
