How Has Burlington Voted in Past Presidential Elections?
Recent history slightly favors Democrats, but this election may be anyone's guess in Burlington.

BURLINGTON, MA — If the two most recent elections are any indication of future results, former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is likely to earn the most votes in Burlington.
According to voting totals posted on the Town's website, the Democratic candidate has won the town in each of the past two presidential election cycles. However, both races were decided by margins within 1,500 votes.
In the most recent presidential election (2012), the campaign of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden won 6983 votes in town, edging the campaign of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and current house speaker Paul Ryan's 6,191 votes by just 792.

The 2012 results similarly mirrored the 2008 results, as Obama and Biden defeated the campaign of Arizona Senator John McCain and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin by a total of 1,119 votes. The Obama campaign received a total of 6,822 votes, with the McCain campaign receiving 5,703.

Burlington hasn't voted Democratically across the board, as Republican senatorial candidate Scott Brown defeated current Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren in Burlington in the 2012 election.
Voter turnout increased slightly from 83.8 percent in the 2008 election to 85.7 percent in the 2012 election.
