Wayland, a No. 3 seed, took only a three-goal lead into the half, but opened it up in the second half of the match to advance past No. 14 Burlington.

The Burlington High School girls' lacrosse team showed energy and skill Tuesday but still fell to Wayland High 18-8 in the first round of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Atheletic Association (MIAA) tournament.
