Letter to the Editor: Candidacy Announcement for Town Meeting
A letter to the editor from Burlington Town Meeting Precinct 3 Candidate Joanne Frustaci.

I am Joanne Frustaci, Precinct 3 Town Meeting member and I ask for one of your votes on Saturday April 14th for re-election. I am a geriatric clinician and advocate, mother of a Marshall Simonds 7th grader, and I have my BA and MSW from Smith College. My family has lived on Valley Circle for 15 years.
It is exciting to have a competitive race for Town Meeting in Precinct 3. Contested races help incumbents articulate their accomplishments and refine their goals for the next term. I loved becoming a key member of Town Meeting in the past three years. We have a legacy of strong leadership in Precinct 3 and I have been fortunate to learn from the best since elected in 2009. I have been recognized to speak on diverse issues, been included in the agenda at various Boards, and have also utilized Citizens’ Time to address pressing issues with positive results for our community.
Most importantly, I collected petition signatures from Town Meeting Members for the bylaw change that stopped new multi-unit housing in the Cambridge St./Town Center area in response to your feedback. Many projects in the pipeline will require such leadership.
It is an honor to serve Town Meeting with articulate newcomers and an enormously impressive base of long-time members. They have taught me to research beyond what is provided for back-up, share information for informed decisions, ask questions of department heads to illuminate issues, and work diligently to help govern, all with an eye toward return on investment for you, the taxpayer. Vote for Frustaci, Town Meeting, Precinct 3 on Saturday, April 14th. Thank you.
