Letter to the Editor: L’Heureux for Planning Board
A letter to the editor in support of Barbara L'Heureux for Planning Board

The following is a letter to the editor:
There are a number of people with young families and the commitments associated with providing for and schooling our next generation who nevertheless make the time to participate in community government affairs to our collective benefit. Barbara L’Heureux is such a person. She has repeatedly demonstrated a strong interest in guiding our community towards smart development and prudent allocation of Town resources for necessary government services.
She has been involved in evaluating the recent efforts to redevelop properties along the Middlesex Turnpike corridor and publicly demonstrated that she has the ability and patience to assess the various options and positions presented by project developers and citizens that come before the Planning Board. She has also demonstrated a fair an impartial willingness to hear all pertinent information before making a judgment on whether a particular project would be of benefit to the community.

In her work on the Capital Budget Committee, she has ably demonstrated that she understands the importance of balancing Town resources with service demands and how that might impact the tax base, quality of service and the quality of life in the community. Application of that background to claimed benefits of a new development project to the Town, we can be assured, will be thoroughly evaluated in the light of increased Town services cost as well as long term environmental and societal costs.
I strongly support the candidacy of Barbara L’Heureux for Planning Board and urge all to consider her for one of the two available positions. Her presence on the Board will reinforce the goal of a “ growing better community”
