Man Breaks into Restaurant Overnight, Dog Attack, Home Burglarized, Lost Engagement Ring and More

The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, Jan. 6
12:34 p.m. - Person in station found a bracelet at LLBean and turned it in.
2:11 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop, 49 Middlesex Turnpike at 1 Adams St. Driver was summonsed and issued two criminal citations for a number plate violation to conceal ID, unregistered motor vehicle, no inspection sticker and uninsured motor vehicle.

8:26 p.m. - Person in station reporting he’s receiving threats on Facebook.
9:37 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop, 101 Middlesex Turnpike. Driver cited for failure to use headlights at night.

Wednesday, Jan. 7
7:37 a.m. - Caller from Lexington Street reporting malicious damage to her daughter’s motor vehicle. Caller wanted the incident logged, didn’t request a report.
8:02 a.m. - At 3:50 a.m. a breaking and entering occured at Tavern in the Square, 1 Executive Park. The suspect entered the restaurant by smashing out the front door with a tire iron. Suspect entered the dining room and discovered a cleaner was also on the premises. The suspect hid in the rear of the dining room until approximately 5 a.m. and then walked out the front door, leaving without taking anything visible.
The incident was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance system. Police arrested Sean D. McIvenna, 44, of Arlington who was charged with breaking and entering into a building nighttime felony, destruction of property over $250 and possession of a malicious burglarious instrument.
10:13 a.m. - Call from Pyara Spa and Salon, 101 Middlesex Turnpike. General Manager reports he just terminated an employee and he did not leave peacefully and had caused a disturbance inside.
10:15 a.m. - Caller from Algonquin Drive reports the daughter lost her diamond engagement ring with silver/platinum band in the vicinity of Algonquin Drive.
11:43 a.m. - Caller from Meadowvale Road reports home was broken into sometime this morning. Caller reports missing one iPod Nano and I Dr. Dre Beats (new in box). Caller stays items were in his bedroom when he left this morning and when he arrived back a few hours later the items were missing. Caller told police the garage and basement doors were unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry. Caller suspects a friend who was allowed to live at the home was responsible, has knowledge to unlocked doors and according to the victim has a drug dependency problem.
3:58 p.m. - Report of a dog bite with injury 36 Lowell St. at Newbridge Avenue. The dog officer was dispatched. The dog was free in the street and bit another dog and its owner. The animal control officer took custody of the dog.
4:55 p.m. - Theft in progress, Wegmans, 53 Third Ave. Loss Prevention is requesting an officer for assistance with a shoplifter. Two shoplifters were detained, identified, and released. Both to be summonsed to court for larceny over $250.
5:31 p.m. Tinkham Avenue resident reports someone egged her vehicle and caused visible damage sometime between Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 7 at 7 a.m.
