Sunday Hours Return
We are happy to announce that the library will be open Sundays from 1pm – 5pm starting September 12th! As an added bonus, our Saturday hours are extended from 10am – 5pm starting September 11th. We look forward to making our library services available all weekend for our patrons!

Adult Programs
Bruce Robert Coffin - Retired Portland Police Detective & Bestselling Author - Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 7pm
Join us for a resumption of in-person library programs! Bruce Robert Coffin is the bestselling author of the Detective Byron mystery series. A former detective sergeant with more than twenty-seven years in law enforcement, he supervised all homicide and violent crime investigations for Maine's largest city. Following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, Bruce spent four years investigating counter-terrorism cases for the FBI, earning the Director's Award, the highest award a non-agent can receive.

The first three novels in the Detective John Byron mystery series, Among the Shadows (2016), Beneath the Depths (2017), and Beyond the Truth (2018), have been well-received by fans and critics alike. The fourth book in the series Within Plain Sight will be published in February 2020. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Youth Services Programs
This week our weekly stories times resume. Additionally, there are three special extra storytimes as well as a party celebrating a new children’s book. There is also an edible art program for teens. Programs
Teen Event: Edible Aquariums – September 13th at 7pm
Join Nicole at the library and make your own edible aquarium with blue Jell-O! For students in 6th - 12th grade. Registration is required and begins September 1st.
Last Kids on Earth Book Party – Thursday, September 16th at 4pm
Celebrate the new book The Last Kids on Earth and the Doomsday Race with themed activities and a chance to win a copy, for grades 3-8. Registration begins on September 9th.
Toddler Story & Craft – Friday, September 17th at 10:30am
For caregivers with children ages 18-36 months. Join us for a toddler story and craft based on the tale! Registration is required and opens on September 10th.
Preschool Story & Craft – Friday, September 17th at 11:30am
For caregivers with children ages 3-6 years. Join us for a preschool story and craft based on the tale! Registration is required and opens on September 10th.
Storytimes
Baby Storytime (Birth-18 Months) - Mondays at 10:30am
For caregivers with children ages birth–18 months.
Delight and stimulate your baby’s senses with books, songs and puppets!
Toddler Storytime - Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30am
For caregivers with children ages 18-36 months.
Interact with your toddler to nurture a love of books.
Afternoon Storytime – Tuesdays at 3:30pm
Best for ages 3-8.
If you can't join us for storytime in the mornings, you can enjoy stories, songs, and fun in the afternoons!
Preschool Storytime – Wednesdays at 11am
For caregivers with children ages 3-6 years.
Help your preschooler get ready to read! Enjoy stories together!
Pajama Storytime - Wednesday, September 15th at 6:30pm
For caregivers with children ages 3-6 years.
Snuggle in for evening storytime fun!
Bring your favorite stuffed animal and blanket!
Please note: Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all storytime sessions.
