Police Log: Man Scammed Out of $4,000, Pizza Store Threats and Hotel Guest Evicted

Thursday, August 14
12:16 a.m. - A clerk at Pizza Days on Winn Street reported they were receiving phone calls with threatening remarks about poor service and called the pizza shop six times. Caller contacted and requested an apology from staff; however they declined to speak further this late at night and would be contacted during daylight hours.

2:29 a.m. - Lantern Lane resident called to report he may have information regarding past damage to his vehicle.
9:28 a.m. - Caller reports a green Mini Cooper heading southbound on Cambridge Street is operating erratically. Police could not locate the vehicle.

10:12 a.m. - Caller from Peach Tree Road reporting two construction trucks are blocking the road. Police instructed drivers to move vehicles off the road.
10:44 a.m. - Manager of Extended Stay America, 40 South Ave., called to request assistance with escorting a hotel guest from the property. Parties were evicted from the hotel and were waiting for a ride to come get them. Police stayed with them until their ride arrived.
11:27 a.m. - Caller reports a dying rabbit in front of St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St.
12:31 p.m. - Caller reports his blue 1988 Fruehauf 2-axle pole trailer was stolen. Trailer has CT registration V22689. Was last seen sometime between January 2014 and February 2014.
3:43 p.m. - Caller reports a theft from a Craigslist transaction.
3:53 p.m. - Caller reports a duffle bag hanging from a U-turn sign in the area of Cambridge Street at Wayside Road. The bag belonged to a panhandler.
6:33 p.m. - Caller reports someone scammed him out of $4,000. Caller told police he was told his grandson was in an accident and incarcerated and in need of cash to get out of jail in Boston. The caller went to CVS and purchased 8 PayPal Green Dot cards. He called the original caller and read the serial numbers to the unknown caller totalling $4,000.
6:39 p.m. - Individual walked into police station to report he lost his telephone while at Kohls on Lexington Street on August 13.
8:39 p.m. - Caller reports gunfire coming from the Minuteman Sports Club, 56 Francis Wyman Road, after hours. Police didn’t find anyone there and all was quiet.
9:17 p.m. - Police received a call saying a woman was screaming in the woods near 6 Kimball Court and requested police check the area of Arboretum Way.
9:27 p.m. - Person came into the station reporting they lost their wallet sometime around 7 p.m. between where he parked his car and the Macy’s entrance at the Burlington Mall. Individual already canceled all the cards in his wallet.
11:47 p.m. - Caller reports an unoccupied vehicle is facing the wrong way on Middlesex Turnpike in the vicinity of the Sun Microsystems complex. Police had the vehicle towed. Billerica police were attempting to contact the registered owner and Republic Election was notified of damage to a light pole.
