Police Log: Patio Furniture Rearranged, Several Shoplifting Incidents and Animal Violations

The following log entries were provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, August 21

12:18 a.m. - Caller reports a vehicle is doing donuts in the parking lot of the Burlington Housing Authority, 15 Birchcrest St., struck a parked car and is now disabled. They also reported another person in the area. Police found the suspect vehicle on scene and the drier was issued a complaint citation for reckless operation after officers interviews two witnesses.

1:14 a.m. - Security officers at Nordblom, 45 Network Drive, reports observing a possibly intoxicated female urinate next to her vehicle. The female was then sitting in her car. Police spoke to the parties involved. Adult females were transported from the scene by a friend.

10:14 a.m. - Power outage at the police station. Sergeant reports possible damage to computer equipment. Spoke with NSTAR who was working on the problem that caused the issue.

11:29 a.m. - Caller reports her patio furniture was rearranged without knowledge while left on her outside third floor terrace. No items reported stolen or damaged at this time.

12:02 p.m. - Female in station reports her vehicle was damaged while parked at the Capital Grille.

12:34 p.m. - Woburn Police reporting a suspicious motor vehicle at Georgia Drive and Beacon Street. Vehicle’s owner was collecting cans. He was given a ride to the Legion on Winn Street and will have his vehicle towed later tonight.

2:24 p.m. - Caller reports a suspicious woman inside Victoria’s Secret in the Burlington Mall may have shoplifted and left into the mall. Request was for an officer while they checked cameras. Was determined two women in their early 20s may have shoplifted in the store. They acted very suspicious and fled store quickly with numerous bags. They are described as white females, both dressed in black with blonde and red hair tied up in buns. The two walked through the mall. Officers were unable to locate.

5:22 p.m. - Caller from Hugo Boss, 75 Middlesex Turnpike, reports two male parties left the store with $5,000 in merchandise. A unit was dispatched to the store. The theft was witnessed by a third party. Hugo Boss did not wish to report the theft. No description of items taken or total amount were given.

7:16 p.m. - Burlington Mall security reports a man is breaking tables in the mall’s food court. On arrival police discovered the party had received disturbing news and in his anger hit the table and broke it. He will make restitution for damages. Victim does not want to press criminal charges at this time.

7:48 p.m. - Animal Control Officer investigating animal complaint on Forbes Avenue. Resident was given verbal warning and given until August 29 to register animal.

8:16 p.m. - Verbal warning for control of dogs violation given to resident on Peach Orchard Road.

8:57 p.m. - Animal Control Officer reports checking on unlicensed dog on Frothingham Road.

11:10 p.m. - Police received complaint of a barking dog in the Birch Street area.
