Police Logs: Raccoons Trapped in Sewer Drain, Customer Locked in at Macy's and Several Motor Vehicle Violations

The following log entries were provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 2:

6:55 a.m. - Butters Lane resident reports seeing a dark colored Jeep in the area, same did not make any actions to cause alarm.

7 a.m. - Caller reports dead animal on Middlesex Turnpike in the area of Market Basket that needs to be removed.

8:10 a.m. - Caller reports a possible baseball base in the roadway in the area of 34 Cambridge St. DPW will handle or call the state.

9:18 a.m. - Caller reports needing assistance with a bat in a home on Beaverbrook Road.

9:23 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and inspection sticker violation. Vehicle was towed.

9:55 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light and seatbelt violations.

10:24 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

10:34 a.m. - Caller reports motor vehicle carsh, Mall Road at 59 Cambridge St. Operator stated she was looking at traffic on Cambridge Street when she was hit in the rear. One person was transported to Lahey Clinic.

10:37 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

10:56 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

11:09 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

11:21 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

11:35 a.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Winn Street at 14 Sears St. A citation was issued for pedestrian red light violation.

(There were several more motor vehicle stops on Tuesday, Sept. 2 in the same area for pedestrian red light violations)

12:39 p.m. - Minor motor vehicle crash in the area of 6 Wayside Road. No injuries reported.

1:24 p.m.- Motor vehicle stop - at Memorial Elementary School, 125 Winn St. Citation was issued for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and seat belt violation. Officer assisted operator with renewing registration online.

1:54 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop, 102 Winn St. Driver was issued a citation for inspection sticker violation.

2 p.m. - Manager of Victoria’s Secret inside the Burlington Mall reports a white female, about 20 years old, medium height and build with brown hair left the store after leaving merchandise behind. According to manager she may have become suspicious and abandoned her attempt to shoplift.

2:09 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop, Memorial Elementary School, 125 Winn St. Citation issued for crosswalk violation.

2:33 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop, 60 Winn St at Winnmere Avenue. Driver was issued a citation for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Car was towed.

2:47 p.m. - Caller reports disabled vehicle at 122 Lexington St. Officer requests a tow for the vehicle which is missing a front tire.

3:16 p.m. - Reports of a disturbance at Wendy’s, 112 Mall Road. Police discovered there was no problem. Incident was a disagreement between two employees.

4:24 p.m. - Resident of 5 Gloria Circle reports there are several raccoons trapped in the sewer drain out in front of her home.

4:54 p.m. - Report of a wire down in the area of 16 Ardmore Ave. It was a cable wire that split from the house. It was moved off the driveway and was determined to not be a road hazard.

5:02 p.m.- Reports of a verbal confrontation between solicitor and motorist in the area of 1 Wall St. Pan handler told police a motorist began yelling at him claiming his charity was a “scam.” No threats and no physical confrontation occurred.

9:49 p.m. - Burlington Mall security reports there is an unknown employee locked inside Macy’s and can’t get out. Turns out if was a customer who got locked in the store.

10 p.m. - Reports of suspicious activity. Caller reports suspicious vehicle fled from the parking lot of the Border Cafe onto Mall Road. Police found no sign of entry into any of the vehicls in the parking lot. Officers were unable to locate suspect.
