Burlington Police Searching for Counterfeit Suspect in Middlesex Commons Area

BREAKING: A reverse 911 call was issued to area residents.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington, Woburn and Lexington police are searching for a suspect who allegedly passed counterfeit money at two retail stores in Burlington Wednesday afternoon.

According to an announcement from the Burlington Police Department, officers responded to Bed Bath & Beyond in Burlington for a report of two men trying to purchase goods with counterfeit money at 2:30 p.m. At 3 p.m., police received a separate report of male suspects trying to use counterfeit money at the Paper Store.

Police say the suspects tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at both stores.

Police confronted four suspects in the area of Middlesex Commons, and arrested three of them. One of the suspects fled the scene on foot.

The announcement further indicated that police are still actively searching the area.
