Power Outage Hits Burlington Area Saturday Afternoon

Rain all morning into afternoon starting to show effects in the area.

The weekend wind and rain has been well underway and some towns are already being affected.

Burlington Police are saying a power outage hit the Burlington area just before noon on Saturday. Possibly due to a transformer on Lexington Street.

It is unknown how many residents are currently without power. NSTAR serves 11,337 residential customers in Burlington.

Power outages were to be expected during this storm system. The National Weather Service issued a high wind watch, forecasting rain and wind gusts as high as 60 mph for Saturday. On Sunday, the temperature will dip into the low 30s—possibly bringing a small accumulation of snow.

Police urge residents who have lost power to report outages to NSTAR by calling 800-592-2000 or by going online.
