Release: Groundbreaking Ceremony held for Burlington Pump Station
The Waterline Industries Corporation and town officials attended the ceremony on Wednesday, May 18 2011

The following is a release from The Waterline Industries Corporation of Seabrook, N.H.
After 10 long years of hard work and dedication by town administrators and officials , the town of Burlington has moved forward with their long awaited rehabilitation project for the town sewer station. The pump station, located at 126 Terrace Hall Avenue was built almost 50 years ago in the mid-1960s and is due for an upgrade.
This $6 million dollar project was bid in November of 2010 and was awarded to general contracter Waterline Industries Corporation of Seabrook, NH.

Waterline will complete work for this project in 2 phases. Phase I consists of the installation of approximately 2 miles of new 24 inch sewer force main and connections/modifications to an existing manhole. The existing sewer mains are currently located in the Great Meadow wetland area, which the town is concerned may be affected by future sewer leakage. The new lines are therefore going to be relocated by Waterline away from the wetland area and connected back to the new pumping station discharge piping valve chamber.
Phase II of the project includes the upgrade of the existing wastewater pump station on Terrace Hall Avenue to accommodate existing wet weather flows. Waterline’s work consists of the following: installation and connection of a wastewater bypass pumping system, demolition of the existing systems and modifcation to existing structure, new sewage pumping systems, installation of new in-line sewage grinder, new odor control systems, new metal roof system and building architectural modifications, and all electrical work associated with the above mentioned work.

A groundbreaking ceremony was coordinated by The Town of Burlington to celebrate the commencement of the project and was held at the pump station location on Wednesday, May 18 2011. Waterline Industries attended the groundbreaking ceremony, along with engineer Fay, Spofford and Thorndike and town officials. Attendees of the event were also able to celebrate the work of all Public Works facilities across the country, as this ceremony coincided with National Public Works Week (May 15 - 21) .
Due to hard economic times, it is uncommon to see towns and cities undergoing rehabilitation and upgrade efforts. Superintendent of Public Works John Sanchez recognizes what a privilege these upgrades are and notes that "Burlington is fortunate in the infrastructure improvements it can address during these difficult times.”
“The Waterline Companies are excited to start the improvements to the Terrace Hall Pumping Station and Force Main Project," Ben Fuller, Waterline Assistant Superintendent noted. “All these improvements will provide for a more efficient and safe Pumping Station. Waterline is extremely motivated to provide the Town of Burlington with an outstanding finished product, and will uphold the highest standards of workmanship along the way.”
